The NBA is changing every single year, with new champions and new stars emerging. The game has become unpredictable and is truly a fantasy franchise mode type of league. So many teams have changed over the last five years, with new star players brought in, new rookie picks and new coaches. Five years ago, the Thunder were sitting at 22-50 and were 14th place in the Western Conference. JJ Reddick was in the last year of his playing career with Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. The Timberwolves had a new fun rookie in Anthony Edwards, but still had a record of 23-49. The Brooklyn Nets, with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden were the second seed in the East with a 48-24 record. These fun flashbacks all show how the future of the league is always unknown. What is known though, is the future of the NBA from my end. I got the script and wanted to break down the future with you guys. I’ll be diving into the All-NBA teams in 2031, the champion of the league and the awards given out. If you don’t agree, I apologize, the script is the script. So if the Bulls 3-Peat again, don’t be surprised. 

 

2031 All NBA Teams:

Here it is, the script of the future Top 15 players in the year 2031. Some of the guys who are dominant right now, and are fairly young are on the list. Cade, Ant, Wemby and Shai are the guys who I think will still be top dogs, like they are now. Cooper Flagg will also be in that conversation as he continues to emerge and will be dominant as he grows. There will be some young exciting guards in Maxey, Harper and Peterson who find their way on here, as I think the mix of high-level scoring and playmaking upside will elevate their games. I feel like there has to be a Bulls player on this list as-well, just because they should be really good soon…. But give it a look and see who the script likes in the future.

2031 MVP: Cooper Flagg

Looks like the script stayed away from the obvious choice most people would pick, in Victor Wembanyama. We know the Alien is a freak and will be in the prime of his career at this time, but the script had a different #1 pick in mind. The 2031 MVP of the NBA will be none other than Cooper Flagg. Flagg will be 24 during the season, as he is someone only 19 years old still. The rookie of the year last season had numerous scoring outbursts and even scored the most points by a teenager in a game at 51… He also was the first rookie since Michael Jordan to lead all rookies in every major stat category (Points, Rebounds, Assists and Steals). Being thrust into a position he had never played, in point guard, will only help his feel for the game and ability to control the game as a whole in the future. Filling up the stat sheet will give him that opportunity to rival Wemby’s MVP case. Once the jumper comes fully together, its wrap for the league. 

 

2031 DPOY: Victor Wembanyama

The script did not stray away from the person who will probably go down as the greatest defender to ever play the game, in Victor Wembanyama. Last season, Wemby averaged a ridiculous 4.1 STOCKS (Blocks + Steals) while altering every player’s decision to go into the paint. When Wemby is on the court he essentially takes away the entire paint, and the Spurs force you to shoot to beat them. During the last playoff run, we saw that it is already hard to get a clean jumper off against the Spurs physical defense that picks you up full court. For example, during the Spurs v T Wolves series last season, with Wemby off the court, the T Wolves shot an insane 69.2% from the field, but when the bad man Wemby was on the court, they shot an abysmal 41.6%. His impact on the end is truly something we have never seen, and he will rake up a ridiculous amount of DPOY’s in the future. 

 

2031 Champions: Detroit Pistons

Oh man, this script is going to make some fans who have experienced some bad basketball for years very happy. This team was brutal throughout my childhood, arguably the laughing stock of the league for years. The team has completely changed the narrative already and did finish first in the Eastern Conference last season. The 2031 NBA Champions will be the Detroit Pistons… Having an S tier guy is necessary to make a run, and luckily the Pistons will have an S Tier player for a decade in Cade Cunningham. Cade’s ability to slow the game down and get to his spots is made for the post season. If the Pistons can fill out the roster correctly and continue to add shooting around him, and give him space instead of the Lebron wall he was seeing, he will have space to operate and not have to deal with defenders sitting in helpline. Jalen Duren being on the team or not is the wildcard, but assuming he is, he will be a dominant physical rim protector, who will develop his offensive game. Third Team All-NBA last season at age 22, and he’s already been written off by some in the media because of his playoff performance. They will add a secondary scorer next to Cade as well, but the Script says that I can’t leak who yet. Regardless, Cade delivers for Detroit and gets them back to the mountain top.

 

2031 ROTY: 

I’ll be honest, I’m not too tapped in with the top 8th graders in the country. I had an 8th grade kid on my basketball team score 24 points in a game, so maybe he would be my guess. But if you guys got a guy, god bless.
